Apple Releases iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 Beta 3 for Developers for All Compatible iPhone and iPad Devices
As mentioned, developers now have the option to download the latest iOS 18.2 beta 3 on their iPhones via the Settings app. However, you will need to make sure that your Apple ID is linked to your developer account. Once you have done that, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Update > and download the latest build. The process is the same for iPadOS 18.2 beta 3, so follow the same instructions.
Apple has added several bug fixes and new changes in the latest iOS 18.2 beta 3. Most importantly, iOS 18.2 beta 3 is bringing major changes to the video player on iPhone. Currently, when you open a video, it plays on a white background. It stays that way until you tap on the display, which turns the background black, making it more like a full-screen experience. Now tapping on the display will hide the video playback controls.
There is also a new setting related to camera controls for iPhone 16 users. Currently, you have to press the camera control button twice, one to raise it and a second tap to launch your favorite camera app. Now, you have the option to launch the camera with a single tap in Settings.
Apart from those two major additions, the company has also updated the writing tools copy and paste menu that appears in the first section of the menu, meaning you don't have to scroll down. The feature also added new 'Share Item Location' details in the latest beta, which the company also announced in a press release. All these features and the ChatGPT integration will be available to the general public next month. We'll keep you posted, so be sure to stay tuned.
